  19. Sounds like you set the Workbench to 24bit mode in Retina Emul.  This 
  20. particular configuration will allow you to display 24bit pics/anims in WB 
  21. windows while keeping your WB environment as fast as possible because of 
  22. the 4 color Workbench.  Use Retina Emul again and make sure thw WB screen 
  23. is the same as your 256 color screen mode that you've chosen.   Then go 
  24. back to WB prefs screenmode, and you should be able to choose between 2 
  25. to 256 colours.
